![]() In the absence of any whine, and while its perfectly OK for town work-motorway OK if 50-60 maintained I shall be endeavouring to get this OBD2 plug working to read the fault code that's hidden and possibly be able to see timing on number one cylinder, this from skippys observation because I have just had the timing belt and water pump renewed.also a new oil seal in the camshaft bearing (not that this would affect). This is why the sudden power surge around town has me concerned, outside of warranty a new turbo will be Costa fortune peps. Then it blew! and discovered later at home it had sucked the engine nearly dry of oil. ![]() My last Turbo that went was whining like a banshee, and just before it blew the power acceleration was massive, complete with brands hatch sound.would have made a boy racer proud. Engine revs constant (reducing?) when I hit 50-60 on Moterway with pedal to the metal.Īt standstill I imagine it would red line if I pushed it. Update as I edit this post, I have found drivers that seem to work with a bit of jigging in device manager to a smaller port on a program called "Scan v 1.13".but it will have to wait tomorrow till I plug it into the Taxi.might get arrested if I went out now in my nightshirt and a box of wiresĭefinitely not a slipping clutch, this ones pretty recent. Hoping this will show more, if I can get my head around the thing and the mysterious OBD2 codes etc. I have the CD on its way to replace the cracked one in the Elm327 interface plug/usb cable I ordered. Mr Doom if when I go out the morrow, and floor it stationary.I assume this is what you mean, and it goes into limp.what would your next advice be please? Have to drop to 3rd to wind the turbo and then it needs mothering to stay in to maintain 70. Limp mode when floored has a ring of truth, though not a boy racer the only annoyance is above 50mph on the motorway when the turbo doesent want to have any of it. Wonder if a good flushing oil might be the answer first? It has been mentioned to me a valve may be blocking in the Turbo, this may tie in to the Ametech oil treatment I used last year to reduce friction and emissions, but did not renew it. ![]() Thanks for advices Skippy and Doom, No wailing turbo yet, I know that noise well after 4 swined it up on the trots, all recons thankfully during warranty. ![]()
