Everything Breaks: Zig-Zagged crates, chairs, tables, Explosive Barrels and other environmental props such as computers can be destroyed, but filing cabinets, large crates, platforms and metal barrels can't.Do Not Drop Your Weapon: Averted, as you can knock the firearms out of your enemies’ hands with a melee weapon.Averted in Deluxe as you can run while shooting, but it’s inaccurate. Do Not Run with a Gun: A player needs to stop in order to aim properly.Destination Defenestration: It ain’t a proper Superfighters match unless someone gets thrown out of a window.While no one takes visible damage in Deluxe, the amount of punishment a fighter can take would render a normal person a pile of gore at best. Critical Existence Failure: Zig-Zagged The player can still fight at full capacity, but the characters bleed from their heads when their health is low.This can occasionally lead to an Event-Obscuring Camera. Camera Lock-On: The camera will automatically expand or shrink its FOV to keep all fighters in view.The game also has a number of unique animations for players that die, like players that have been killed through melee strikes stumbling back several steps, possibly off a ledge. Beating A Dead Player: Bodily harassment is easy to do, especially with the detailed physics system.Bullet Time: For 5 or 10 seconds through power-ups.They also tend to get confused by doorways and nearby weapon pickups, and will never use bullet time or grenades. You can easily wipe out most of the CPU by setting them against each other and hanging back. It contains improved graphics, more stages and weapons, a dedicated launcher, a map editor and more things to blow up. Despite this potential for mayhem the game requires a large amount of skill (and luck), as a well-timed shot or a well-placed pack of C4 can set off Disaster Dominoes that ends up with the entire stage in flames.Ī pseudo sequel/remake called Superfighters: Deluxe is currently in development, but is at a more than playable stage. Even weapons can be kicked around or thrown, and a structure you're on can easily collapse or be shot out if you're not careful. Most stages have one or two unique things to interact with as well, such as a Friendly Local Chinatown styled stage having hanging lanterns that can be shot out to dump a bundle of fire onto your opponents in Deluxe. ![]() Where the real fun comes in is the Wreaking Havok aspect of the game - environments are rather destructible, and have a lot of different physics objects such as crates or windows. You can also set teams and CPU difficulty. This can be done in numerous ways- with explosives, firearms, melee weapons, stuff lying about like chairs, or your bare hands. The goal is, obviously, to kill all your opponents. In each match, there can be up to 8 fighters (1 or 2 player-controlled, with the rest controlled by the CPU). The game is an arena-type fighting game in which players utilize weapons and other items spawned in to kill each other in violent (and usually awesome) ways. ![]() The game is hosted on Newgrounds, and can best be described as a 80's and 90's action movie-styled (Think Die Hard or The Terminator) version of Super Smash Bros.
